In the men's 49kg event, Cong lifted 182kg to break his own world record of 181.5kg set at the Asian Para Games held in Incheon, the Republic of Korea last October.
Cong, 31, defeated nine other weightlifters to win in his category.
In the men's 54kg, Nguyen Binh An set a new Asian record with a total lift of 183kg.-VNA
