The RoK-Vietnam Friendship and Cooperation Association in Yongin city of Gyeonggi province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) held the seventh RoK-Vietnam sports and cultural exchange festival on May 26.

Attending the festival were Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK Tran Trong Toan, Yongin city Mayor Kim Hak-gyu, RoK Member of Parliament Ee U-hyun and Vice Chairman of the RoK-Vietnam Friendship and Cooperation Association Lee Sang-shin.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Ambassador Toan said that the annual event created a friendly environment for participants. He expressed hope that the association will have more activities to contribute to strengthening cooperation and friendship between the two countries’ people.

Mayor Kim Hak-gyu highly valued the activities of the RoK-Vietnam Friendship and Cooperation Association in past years, adding that the event is very meaningful in the series of activities to mark the 20 th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-RoK diplomatic ties.

Within the framework of the festival, Ambassador Tran Trong Toan and the RoK-Vietnam Friendship and Cooperation Association also offered presents to Vietnam-RoK multicultural families.-VNA
