Vietnam's Ministry of Health on Aug. 1 confirmed 18 more cases of A/H1N1 influenza, raising the total number of flu patients in the country to 868.

So far 454 patients have been released from hospital after treatment and no deaths have been reported since the first case was confirmed, the Ministry said on the same day.

Currently, the remaining 414 patients are in isolation for medical treatment. They are in stable condition, showing no serious symptoms.

According to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), as of Aug. 1, 145 countries and territories all over the world have recognised 183,326 cases of A/H1N1 flu, 1,148 of which were fatal./.
