Hanoi (VNA) – The biggest ever motor show in Vietnam is scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City from October 26 – 30 with the presence of 19 renowned car brands.

Though only the second of its kind, the Vietnam International Motor Show 2016 (VIMS 2016) of the Vietnam car importers association VIVA is on a bigger scale than the show sponsored by the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA).

VIMS 2016 will be attended by the official importers of 19 renowned car brands either imported into or assembled in Vietnam such as Audi, Bentley, BMW, Jaguar, Porsche and Rolls Royce, compared to only nine importers present at last year’s event.

Laurent Genet, General Director of the official Audi importer in Vietnam, said VIMS 2016 will showcase new car models for all segments of the market, along with car components, spare parts and accessories.

It will also feature a section for related financial and banking services and a seminar on Vietnam’s automobile industry.

The show at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre is expected to attract 120,000 visitors.

In the first half of this year, nearly 126,800 cars were sold on the Vietnamese market, a 31 percent year-on-year increase. On average, about 700 cars were bought each day.-VNA
