Vietnam women’s rowing team won 5 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals at the Asian Rowing Cup, held in Singapore, indicating how much they have improved in recent years.
This year’s Asian Rowing Cup is also an opportunity for two of the country’s rowers, Pham Thi Thao and Nguyen Thi Hai, to get more competitive experience against fellow professionals before they head off to the 2012 London Olympics.
Both girls put in excellent performances at the tournament. Thao took home 3 gold and one bronze medals while Hai returned home with 2 golds.-VNA
