Vinafood 2 to export rice to Malaysia
The Southern Food Corporation has signed a contract to
export 300,000 tonnes of five-percent broken rice to Malaysia.
The Southern Food Corporation (Vinafood 2) has signed a contract to
export 300,000 tonnes of five-percent broken rice to Malaysia, with the
delivery beginning in March 2012.
Earlier, Vinafood 2 contracted to ship 300,000 tonnes of rice to Indonesia, said the Vietnam Food Association (VFA).
This is a positive sign for rice exports in the Mekong delta region in the 2011-2012 winter-spring rice.
Vietnam’s rice output in 2011 is estimated to exceed 41.5 million tonnes.
VFA pledged to consume all commodity rice and ensure that farmers will enjoy a profit of at least 30 percent./.
