During the recent holidays of Reunification Day and May Day, Vung Tau city in the southern coastal province of Ba Ria-Vũng Tau welcomed about 190,000 visitors, up 27 percent over the same period last year.

The city was crowded during all five days of the long holiday period. Tourist numbers peaked on April 30, with 83,000 visitors. This is the highest number of visitors the city has welcomed on any one day.

Vung Tau city is 125 kilometres from Ho Chi Minh City . Located on a peninsula, it is loved for its extensive beaches.

Tourists prefer sightseeing at Front Beach (Bai Truoc) and swimming in Back Beach (Bai Sau), where visitors can see both the sunrise and sunset over the East Sea.

Tourists also flocked to some attractive destinations in the province, such as the Binh Chau mineral springs, Ho Coc and Long Hai tourist areas.-VNA
