Vietnam’s Party, State and people always attach importance to maintaining and developing traditional friendly relations with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

The statement was made by Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat Le Hong Anh at a reception for Kim Yong II, alternative member of the Politburo and Secretary of the Korean Worker’s Party Central Committee.

Anh said the development of bilateral relations, founded by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim II Sung, will contribute to the two peoples’ interests and for peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world.

He expressed his belief that cooperation between the two Party Central Committees’ commissions for external affairs would help promote bilateral relations.

For his part, Kim Yong II affirmed his State and Party’s consistent policy to further strengthen relations with Vietnam.

Earlier on June 11, Hoang Binh Quan, head of the Communist Party of VN Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations held talks with Kim Yong II. The two sides discussed measures to strengthen the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

The DPRK delegation also visited a number of economic and cultural establishments in Hanoi and Thai Binh province.-VNA
