Vietnam has extended the operational time for Atlantic Philanthropies (AP), a non-government organisation operating in the country.

Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO), Permanent member of the Committee for Foreign Non-Government Organisations Affairs, Vu Xuan Hong handed over the three-year extended permit to establish a representative office to the organisation on April 22.

Beginning its activities in Vietnam in 2003, AP actively supported Vietnam to build infrastructure as well as providing the local public health network, hospital system and some universities with equipment and facilities.

It also financed Vietnam to research Agent Orange/dioxin issues in the country.

AP’s assistances helped Vietnam to improve health care conditions for Vietnam people in the localities and contributed to enhancing professional capacity for healthcare staff.

By constantly maintaining a high aid level for Vietnam throughout its operation in the country, AP has become the foreign non-government organisation giving the greatest aid for Vietnam , with more than 30 million USD per year./.
