VN, Japan firms cooperate in making trolleys

reached a deal on building a plant to produce shopping and luggage
trolleys.

The signing ceremony in the central city of Da Nang on Feb. 22 saw the presence of Ha Son, Chairman-cum-General Director of Song Thu company and Tanaka Akio, Vice President of Daifuku Corporation.
The plant will sit on a site of over 3.2 ha at Hoa Cam industrial park in Da Nang city. Once completed, it is expected to generate jobs for nearly 200 workers.
As scheduled, the plant will churn out 50,000 products, mainly luggage trolleys used in airports worth nearly 108 billion VND (5.5 million USD) in the fourth quarter of this year.
As one of Japan’s major economic groups, Daifuku specialises in producing consumer goods, especially small and user-friendly mechanical products. With an annual turnover of over 2.2 trillion USD, it now has joint ventures and representative offices in 20 countries and territories worldwide.-VNA
