The Vietnam – Laos – Cambodia Children Summer Camp got underway in Ho Chi Minh City on July 24.
The Vietnam – Laos – Cambodia Children Summer Camp got underway in Ho Chi Minh City on July 24.
Organised by the HCM City Communist Youth Union, the five-day event drew the participation of 150 children aged 12-15 from Phnom Penh, Battambang and Kampot provinces of Cambodia, Vientiane city, Champassak and Attapeu provinces of Laos, and HCM City.
The participants will have a chance to watch a documentary film featuring the late President Ho Chi Minh, pay floral tributes at the Ho Chi Minh Museum, take part in a painting contest, visit a number of historic sites and tourist attractions, as well as enjoy music performances.
Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Communist Youth Union, said the event aims to increase solidarity and friendship exchanges among regional children, especially at a time when Vietnam is preparing to mark the Vietnam – Laos Friendship Year and the Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Year 2012.-VNA
