The government of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on Dec. 23 announced a plan worth 4 billion won (3.4 million USD) to establish a comprehensive economic consultation campaign to developing countries, including Vietnam, in 2010.

The plan is part of the Knowledge Sharing Programme (KSP), helping developing countries learn from the RoK’s experience in emerging from an agricultural country to one of 15 world leading industrial nations.

According to the RoK Finance Ministry, Cambodia, Indonesia, Uzbekistan and Vietnam are shortlisted to participate in the KSP. In 2009, only Vietnam was the KSP’s beneficiary.

The RoK plans to expand consultation to seven other countries regarding industry and other sectors worth 3.7 billion won.

The country began its consultation programme in 2004 with 134 projects in 15 nations./.
