Vietnamese businesses operating in creative industrial sectors are showcasing their products at the fifth “Creative Product Week” (CPW) expo in the Indonesian capital city of Jakarta from July 6-10.

This year, CPW highlighted creative products in information technology, such as music tapes and discs, films and software, and in publishing, printing, packaging design, advertising and fashion.

With traditional cultural and artistic products, Vietnamese booths, prepared by the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia , were seen as one of the most attractive among those of other ASEAN countries.

Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono underlined the significance and contributions of the annual event to Indonesia ’s economic sectors, especially the creative industry.

The expo drew some 800 companies from 14 creative industrial sectors. Transactions during the exhibition were expected to reach 50 billion Rp (roughly 6 million USD), up 25 percent from last year’s 40 billion Rp.

In 2009, Indonesia’s creative products registered 104,710 billion Rp in export values, accounting for 5 percent of the country’s total exports and registering an average growth of 2.9 percent in the 2006-2009 period./.
