Vietnam wishes to exchange experience with New Zealand in making auditing plans as well as auditing vocational training programmes and issues relating to the environment and legal regulations for auditing organisations and activities.

The statement was made by Chief Auditor of the State Audit Office of Vietnam (SAV) Dinh Tien Dung while working with New Zealand Controller and Auditor-General Lyn Provost during his visit to the country from December 10-16.

Dung emphasised the importance of building cooperation between the two countries’ audit offices. He added that his visit aims to study relations between the New Zealand Office of the Controller and Auditor-General and Parliament and Government agencies as the SAV is proposing its legal status in the Constitution.

As an independent member of the Parliament, the New Zealand Office of the Controller and Auditor-General carries out audits and inspections in the public sector to ensure the budget is used in a reasonable and effective manner./.
