Vietnam wishes to enhance cooperation with El Salvador as the two countries have potential to cooperate in economics, culture and education, said National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong.

The NA Vice Chairwoman expressed this aspiration while meeting with visiting El Salvador Foreign Minister Hugo Martinez in Hanoi on Apr. 1.

She described the Vietnam visit by Minister Hugo Martinez as an important step in the development of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

She expressed her hope that the parliaments of the two countries would boost exchanges and cooperation in bilateral aspects as well as coordinate at regional and world inter-parliamentary forums. She asked the two sides to boost exchanges of delegations at all levels, to share information and experience in law making, especially building mechanisms and policies to create favourable conditions for enterprises of the two countries to cooperate in business and investment.

Minister Hugo Martinez said that through relations between governmental agencies and businesses, relations between the two countries are constantly developing. He praised the roles of friendship parliamentary groups and asked the two sides to set up an El Salvador-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group soon.

He affirmed the solidarity and close friendship between the two nations and expressed his wish to strengthen relations between the two countries, not only in politics, but also in economic and cultural areas./.
