Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam lost both its matches at the classification round of the Asian Women’s Senior Volleyball Championship being held in the Philippines.

The hosts prevailed over Vietnam in a closely fought match at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan, Laguna, on August 14. Vietnam lost 25-27, 24-26, 25-17, 23-25.

On August 13, Vietnam lost another four-setter to Kazakhstan, 25-21, 23-25, 22-25, 20-25.

They will next play Japan, who beat Thailand 22-25, 25-20, 25-22, 26-24 in the quarter-final round.

In other matches on August 14, the Republic of Korea beat Kazakhstan 25-21, 26-24, 25-10 and China beat Chinese Taipei 25-22, 19-25, 20-25, 25-21, 25-11.-VNA
