The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) held a ceremony on August 5 to break ground its information centre in the central and Central Highlands regions.

VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi joined Vice Chairman of the Da Nang city People’s Committee Nguyen Xuan Anh and other municipal leaders at the event.

The 14-storey centre sits on a site of 2,348 sq.m at 28 Le Thanh Tong and 81 Quang Trung streets in the central city of Da Nang’s Hai Chau district.

It will cost over 194 billion VND sourced from the State budget with the VNA representative office in Da Nang as investor.

The centre is to be furnished with state-of-the-art equipment to assist the agency’s service in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City when the two offices face network security-related problems.

Scheduled to open in 2016, the centre is expected to make it easier for VNA staff in the central and Central Highlands regions to perform their tasks, and improve the management of the agency’s offices in the two regions.-VNA
