Near-poor people in the northern central region are expected to receive medical insurance cards soon with financial support from the World Bank.

The project, launched in Thua Thien-Hue province on May 12, will provide near poor individuals who live just above the poverty line with 30 percent of the costs and the State budget 50 percent, leaving the beneficiaries just 20 percent to pay.

In regard to near-poor families, the target population will have to pay just 10 percent of the cost as the project will help 40 percent and the State budget subsidies make up 50 percent.

Thua Thien-Hue province alone is home to over 17,000 near poor families with over 68,000 members./.
