Cambodia will see its economy expand by 7.2 percent in 2014 and 7.5 percent in the next year, the World Bank said in its latest economic report.

The growth will facilitate the country’s efforts in poverty reduction and improving local living standards, the WB representative in Cambodia said.

According to WB, the garment sector will be the key engine of growth, followed by construction, finance, and banking.

However, Cambodia ’s economy could be affected by employment shortage, floods, dropping rice prices, and political security matters in the region.

The report said it is advisable for the country to boost investment in other realms such as tourism, agriculture, and human resources training towards sustainable growth.-VNA
