The Foreign Ministry’s National Border Committee has launched the English-language version of its website on Vietnam ’s sovereign boundaries.

The website at www.biengioilanhtho.gov.vn began operation on December 3, 2009 in the Vietnamese language, providing information and reflecting the Party and State’s official viewpoints on sovereign boundaries.

The website covers news, events, activities of Party and State leaders and localities relating to borderline management and defence on both land and sea.

It provides updates on protocols and agreements on border demarcation, marker planting and border gate management, and agreements on demarcation on sea, economic exclusive zones and continental shelf signed between Vietnam and other countries.

Documents on international law and historical, legal documents asserting Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spartly) archipelagos along with photos, maps, documentary films, songs on border, sea, islands are also available on the website, which has so far lured more than 57 visits./.
