Vietnam has detected no cases of the virus H1N1 as of May 5, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Vietnam.

The organisation also reported that at 18hrs GMT on May 4, 1,085 cases of the H1N1 infection have been officially confirmed in 21 countries and territories worldwide.

At the moment, Mexico remains the country most affected, with 590 people being confirmed as having the H1N1 virus, 25 of whom have died. It is followed by the US which has reported 286 confirmed cases, including one death.

The WHO reports that the countries with confirmed cases, without fatalities, include Austria with (1), Canada (85), Hong Kong (1), Costa Rica (1), Colombia (1), Denmark (1), El Salvador (2), France (2), Germany (8), Ireland (1), Israel (3), Italy (1), the Netherlands (1), New Zealand (4), the Republic of Korea (1), Spain (40), Switzerland (1) and the UK (15).

The WHO has also officially reassured the global community that eating well-cooked pork or pork products poses no risk of contracting the virus./.
