Work starts on modernising northern railway signals
Work on a 3.5 trillion VND-plus project to
modernise information and signals along northern railway routes has
started at Hanoi’s Yen Vien station.

modernise information and signals along northern railway routes has
started at Hanoi’s Yen Vien station.
Addressing the ceremony on
March 24, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Le Manh Hung
said that the project will help the railway sector to increase train
speeds and improve safety, as well as allow access to the latest
technology and railway management solutions.
The routes to be upgraded include Hanoi-Lao Cai, Hanoi-Dong Dang, Hanoi-Thai Nguyen and other railway lines.

than 2.4 trillion VND of the 3.5 trillion VND project is sourced from
the Chinese Government’s preferential credits. The project includes the
construction of a cable transmission system, a signal control system and
train monitoring system.
The first phase of the project, worth 2.2 trillion VND, is expected to be completed in 2013./.
