A workshop was held in Hanoi on Nov. 8 to discuss the role played by photo heritage and museum in the contemporary life, and introduce the National Photo Museum of Vietnam.

Participants affirmed that photo heritage forms part of important historic, cultural, scientific and artistic documents of Vietnam . However, the country has failed to map out a long-term strategy to protect photo heritage.

In that context, the Wallonie-Brussels region and the Charleroi Photo Museum provided assistance and consultancy to help Vietnam preserve its photo heritage and build the National Photo Museum .

Covering an area of 1,200 sq.m in Hanoi’s Cau Giay district, the eight-storey museum will serve as a venue to preserve photos, host events and exchange programmes and train photographers./.
