More than 90 leaders of countries around the world have confirmed their attendance at the funeral ceremony for late South African President Nelson Mandela on December 10, the South African government said.

They include US President Barack Obama, Indian President Pranab Mukherjee, Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, British Prime Minister David Cameron, French President Francois Hollande, Chinese Vice President Liu Yuanchao, Japanese Crown Prince Naruhito, Cuban President Raul Castro, and presidents of several African countries, including Namibia, Tanzania, Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The Vietnamese delegation, led by Dao Viet Trung, Chairman of the Presidential Office and President Truong Tan Sang’s special envoy, arrived in Pretoria on December 9 to attend the event.

The state funeral for Nelson Mandela will be held at 11 a.m. on December 10 at Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg, which was the scene of his last public appearance during World Cup 2010 in South Africa.-VNA
