This is the first time a Vietnamese wrestler will have taken part in the competition.
So far, nine Vietnamese athletes have qualified for the 2012 Olympics, namely Phan Thi Ha Thanh and Pham Phuoc Hung (gymnastics), Le Huynh Chau and Chu Hoang Dieu Linh (taekwondo), Van Ngoc Tu (judo), Hoang Xuan Vinh and Le Thi Hoang Ngoc (shooting), Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuc (athletics) and Nguyen Thi Lua (wrestling).
Currently, Tien Minh (badminton), Tran Le Quoc Hoan (weight-lifting), Quy Phuoc and Anh Vien (swimming) are keeping their fingers crossed in the hope they will earn a place in the world’s largest sporting competition.-VNA
