Three-time SEA Games winner Vinh will compete in the 10m air pistol event to be held on March 9.
The Olympian won a gold medal with 683.3 points in this competition two years ago in Nanchang, China.
According to a ranking released on October 9, Vinh is the second-best shooter in the men's 10m air pistol category behind Olympic winner Jin Jong-oh of the Republic of Korea. He got 1,033 points while Jin obtained 3,207. His position is Vietnam's best ever in the continental ranking.
Meanwhile, tennis player Ly Hoang Nam will compete in two international tournaments this month.
Nam, who has withdrawn from the 2014 Australian Open's junior category, arrived in Costa Rica for the Coffee Bowl event, to be held on January 6-11. He then will travel to Venezuela to compete in the Copa Gatorade on January 13-19.
