Hanoi (VNA) - The representative rural industrial products will be allowed to join connectivity programmes, wholesale and retail fairs, as well as entitled for encouragement to join fairs and exhibitions.
Among the 226 entries sent in, the jury selected 110 products and product sets as the national-level representative rural industrial products.
Speaking to the press on September 10, Deputy Director of the local industry and trade department (permanent office of the programme) Hoang Chinh Nghia said the number of entries for this year is 55 more than that for 2017. Of the entries, the handicraft sector counts 19 products; agro-forestry-fisheries and food 54; machinery, equipment and parts 18; and others 19.
To make their decision, the jury had field trips to 12 provinces and cities representing the three regions, the official said.

On the basis of the criteria and the scores already set, the jury scrutinized the products and reached a consensus on the points to be applied to the selection of the national-level products, thus ensuring fairness for each group of products with its own identities and advantages, as well as the respect for provisions on the quality and designs of the products, Hoang said.
The official added that another condition for the products to be selected is that they must be able to be mass produced and meet the requirements and tastes of the consumers with high competitiveness, being able to create many jobs and ensuring the income for the workers.
Sharing the view, Deputy Director of the science and technology department Pham Thu Giang said that through the selection, the organising board also provided information to and helped firms to understand and meet the criteria on making public the products’ quality and reforming the production technology.
Other requirements include diversity and aesthetics of designs which can interact with the consumers, through which popularization can be made and competitiveness improved, the official added.
There are so many forms of competition in the market, but the quality and prices of the products are the prime focus of attention of the consumers, Giang highlighted, stressing that through their participation in the programme, the enterprises will maintain their production and gain a better development.
Representatives of the organizing board further said that after getting the certificates for their national-level representative rural industrial products, the winning companies and production establishments will not only get cash prizes but also be allowed to print or stick the logo of the programme on the packaging of the products. They will be also prioritised in assistance in trade promotion, popularisation, consultation on support policies, etc., in industrial expansion programmes, officials added.
Besides, the selected products will have a chance to join the connectivity programmes, wholesale and retail fairs, as well as be encouraged to join domestic and overseas fairs and expos if they wish to.
This is the third edition of the programme. In 2015, 100 products were selected; in 2017, 102; and in 2019, 110./.
According to the organizing board, at 8:30am of September 18, the ceremonies to honour and hand over the certificates for the national-level representative rural industrial products and to open the fair and exhibition of representative rural industrial product for 2019 will be held at the Thang Long – Hanoi Royal Citadel Complex. From September 18 to 22, there will be fact-finding tours, signings and trade at the fair and exhibition centre and at 7:30pm of September 22, the event chain and the fair and exhibition will be wrapped up. |
