13th NA’s first session wraps up

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, State President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Huynh Dam attended the closing ceremony.

Addressing the ceremony, NA Chairman Hung said that during this session, the NA elected high-level leader positions of the State, the NA and NA bodies. It decided on the cabinet structure and approved the Prime Minister’s proposal on nominations of Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers and other cabinet members.

With a high consensus and trust, the NA assigned tasks and pledged to create favourable conditions for agencies in the State apparatus to successfully implement their tasks, authority and responsibilities during the whole tenure, he said.

He noted that the NA acknowledges the whole-hearted and responsible speeches made by the State President, the Prime Minister and the NA Chairman, and wishes that the newly-appointed leaders will excellently fulfill their tasks, deserving the confidence of the NA and people nationwide, he noted.

The NA Chairman urged the agencies in the State apparatus to urgently consolidate and strengthen their organisational apparatus and staff; supplement and complete functions and tasks; continue renovating and improving the operation quality and efficiency.

The agencies should further strengthen working coordination and promote the important roles of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organisations, branches and agencies, creating a combined strength to successfully implement the renewal process and the national construction and defence, he stressed.

He said the NA calls on people and soldiers nationwide as well as overseas Vietnamese to raise high the tradition of patriotism, the strength of all-nation solidarity and the will of self-help for self-improvement, bring into full play all domestic resources and international cooperation, take advantage of opportunities, overcome challenges and try their best to successfully implement the Resolution of the 11 th National Party Congress, striving for the goal of a strong nation with wealthy people and a democratic, fair and civilised society.

In the last working day of the 13 th NA’s first session, the deputies voted for a resolution approving the 2009 State budget balance, and resolutions on the 2012 Law and Ordinance Building Programme and adjustments to the 2011 Programme, supplementations and amendments to the 1992 Constitution and the establishment of a committee in charge of drafting amendments to the 1992 Constitution, and the supplementary issuance of some tax measures to solve difficulties for businesses and individuals.

All the resolutions were adopted with high votes./.
