Sixteen countries have issued warnings to their people traveling in Thailand, urging them to avoid demonstration sites in the country.
These countries included England, Norway, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Taiwan, Canada, Australia, Israel, Brazil, Singapore, Belgium, Spain, Netherlands, France, and Sweden, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) reported.
According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, there has been no report from the Association of Thai Travel Agents of any hotel cancellations in spite of the warnings and the ongoing protests do not seem to have any effect on the Thai tourism industry.
However, the TAT is closely monitoring the protests and the impacts because if the situation drags on, the impact would be difficult to assess.
Thailand’s tourism high season started in October./.
