An additional 180 patients tested positive for the A/H1N1 flu on Sept. 3, bringing the total of confirmed cases in Vietnam to 3,201 by 5 pm on the same day. Of that total, two patients have died from the disease.

According to the Ministry of Health, southern provinces reported the largest number with 135 cases, central provinces, 23 cases, northern provinces, 14 cases and the Central Highlands region, 8 cases.

Of the total, 1,473 patients have been released from hospital after treatment. The remaining 1,726 patients are under quarantine and being treated. All are in stable condition.

As the new academic year begins, the ministry is warning schools to isolate all students who test positive for the A/H1N1 flu and to treat them locally, in order to restrain the spread of the virus./.
