1.9 trillion VND poured into hi-end office buildings

The Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUD) kicked off construction on its 1.9 trillion VND (100 million USD) hi-end office buildings in Hanoi ’s Thanh Xuan district on March 21.

Designed by Singapore-based KYTACompany, the HUD Tower will include two blocks of 32 and 28 floorssymbolising two sails filled with wind.

Once completed in late 2012, the HUD Tower will provide Hanoi ’s realestate market with 56,000 sq.m of hi-end offices for lease./.

Finance ministry eyes flexible tax thresholds

In a draft law amending several articles of the laws on personal income tax, corporate income tax and value-added tax, Vietnam's finance ministry proposed scrapping the fixed revenue threshold of 500 million VND. Instead, it suggested the threshold be set by the Government based on prevailing economic conditions.
