As many as 1,120 people living near the poverty line in the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre on March 7 received health insurance cards.
This is part of a programme funded by the Ho Chi Minh City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bannk (HD Bank) and the Saigon Commercial Cooperative Union that aims to present 2,000 cards to this group of people in the locality.
The rest will be handed over to the poor in the province on March 11.
Addressing the event, HD Bank Deputy General Director Dam The Thai said this is the third consecutive year the bank has funded the programme with a total of nearly 3,000 cards.
