Customs officers at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on November 26 seized 2kg of methamphetamine being smuggled into Vietnam.

The contraband was hidden in the luggage of a 31-year-old Vietnamese woman.

The suspect and the confiscated drugs were handed over to the city’s Drug-related Crime Investigation Unit (PC47).

The Tan Son Nhat Airport Customs Department has so far this year uncovered 10 drug trafficking cases, detaining 14 suspects and seizing 25.66kg of drugs of different types and 2,065 ecstasy pills worth nearly 85 billion VND (4 million USD).-VNA
