A passenger plane with 96 people on board crashed during landing at Lindu airport of Yichun city in northeast China’s Heilongjian province late August 24, killing at least 42 people.
According to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the accident happened near the runaway of Lindu airport of Yichun at 9:36 pm, some 40 minutes after it took off from the provincial capital Harbin due to thick fog.
Ninety-one passengers, including five children, and five crew members boarded the ERJ-190 jet of the Henan Airlines, CAAC said.
Early in the morning of August 25, Vice Premier Zhang Dejiang led a team of transportation, health, work safety, and security officials to Yichun city to overcome the consequences and investigate the cause of the crash./.
