Hanoi (VNA) -
A 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck the southern Philippines on September 24, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

The agency said the quake hit off an area 10 kilometres from the Wao city in Lanao del Sur province to the northwest at 4:47 am.

The epicentre was measured at a depth of two kilometres.

The strongest intensity was recorded in Kalilangan, Bukidnon, and Cagayan de Oro cities.

Phivolcs said no damage is expected but there could be aftershocks.-VNA
