71st anniversary of Hanoi’s liberation: A glorious historical milestone

October 10, 1954 – the day Hanoi was liberated – marks a historic turning point, affirming the complete victory of the Vietnamese army and people in the resistance war against French colonialists. The event also ushered in a new era in the thousand-year history of Thang Long – Dong Do – Hanoi.
