Vietnam's representaitves at the Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton Grand Prix Gold Series all crashed out in the first round on November 27.
Le Thu Huyen lost 21-9, 21-13 to South Korean Kim Hyo-min in the women's singles in only 27 minutes.
In the women's doubles event, Huyen and teammate Pham Nhu Thao were trounced 21-8, 21-6 by Savitree Amitrapai and Narissapat Lam of Thailand.
The competition draws 272 players from 19 countries and territories including China, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, and Chinese Tapei from November 26-December 1.
The players are participating in the five individual events at the Macau Forum, namely men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles.
Sanctionned by Badminton World Federation, organised by Badminton Dederation of Macau, the event is the 8 th of its kinds, one of the BWF Level 3 World Grand Prix Gold tournaments, the 12 th and the last Grand Prix tournament.-VNA
