The Asian Commercial Bank (ACB) said on December 1 that it has been selected as the best bank in Vietnam in 2009 by the Banker magazine, a member of the Financial Times Group.

The award, which is based on such criteria as credit financial situation and growth in recent three years, initiatives to increase benefits for shareholders and projects to create market advantages and competitiveness, recognised ACB’s efforts in maintaining its sustainable growth and strong prestige in the world’s financial and banking sector.

The Banker’s selection is the sixth title ACB has won this year. It was previously recognised as Vietnam ’s best bank in 2009 by five other financial magazines, including Asiamoney, FinanceAsia, Euromoney, Global Finance and Asset.

ACB is the fifth biggest bank in terms of total property in Vietnam , holding 10 percent of the country’s savings market share and over 57 percent of the international credit card market share.

Through its 200 branches nationwide, the bank is providing customers with more than 200 basic products and about 600 utility products./.
