The incident occurred at Km 59 of the Rostov-Krasnodar route when a bus and a truck in the opposing lane collided head-on.
Police and rescue workers have been deployed to the site and an investigation is underway.
This was the second serious accident in Russia this week.
The first, which also involved a bus, claimed eight lives and injured 37 others in Novosibirsk province. Twenty-one of the injured are still in hospital./.
