The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide financial assistance worth 64.3 billion VND for the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak to upgrade schools in the province.

The finance is part of a 78.8 billion VND project to upgrade infrastructure and material facilities of 19 junior high schools in seven districts in the province. The Vietnamese Government’s budget will shoulder an amount of 14.5 billion VND in this project.

The project will support these schools to build new classrooms, libraries, laboratories and dormitories for pupils and other facilities, which are expected to be put into operation in the next academic year.

This assistance also aims to improve living conditions for teachers and pupils in disadvantaged communes.

According to the provincial Department of Education and Training, from 2008 to now, 1,605 rooms in kindergartens, primary schools, junior and senior high schools in the province became operational. All rooms were provided with equipment under the regulated standards.
