The Asian Development Bank (ADB) on December 1 unveiled a concessional funding of over 800 million USD to Cambodia over the next five years in support of its economic growth and poverty reduction.

Under the scheme, known as Cambodia Country Partnership Strategy, the bank will support higher agricultural productivity and commercialisation, construction of rural and urban infrastructure, natural resource management, trade and transport facilitation.

"The strategy will also take further step to improve the environment for public-private partnership and private sector development, and continue to support the development of the financial sector, including increasing access to finance in rural areas to create more better jobs”, the bank said in its statement.

On September 26, ADB announced a 30 million USD loan for a nationwide programme to raise the quality of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in Cambodia, which would lead to more job opportunities for women and the poor.-VNA
