Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has recently signed a directive to ask ministries, agencies and localities to implement the Government’s Decree on monitoring administrative procedures.

He required them to devise their own plans with specific tasks for each relevant agency, unit and individual in order to implement the Decree effectively, according to the Vietnam Government Portal (VGP).

He also asked them to improve the process of building and issuing legal documents of the ministers and heads of ministerial-level agencies and provincial People’s Committees, in which responsibilities of the agencies making the documents and those from legal organisations and the municipal and provincial Departments of Justice in evaluating and giving comments on the draft documents need to be defined.

Additionally, a coordination mechanism among legal organisations and relevant agencies should be enhanced to receive and resolve individuals and organisations’ suggestions and comments on administrative regulations, as well as publicise transparently administrative procedures under the regulated managing rights of these organisations and agencies.

PM Dung assigned the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), the legal departments of ministries and industries and the municipal and provincial Departments of Justice to comment on draft legal documents, resolve individuals and organisations’ suggestions and ideas about administrative regulations and publicise the implementation of monitoring administrative procedures at MoJ’s website http://www.thutuchanhchinh.vn and websites of ministries, industries and localities.

Ministries, industries and localities are also asked to enhance the monitoring of administrative procedures as assigned, review and amend inappropriate procedures that hinder production, trade and people’s life, as well as raise the issues over their rights to the Government and PM Dung to resolve.-VNA
