In the morning of August 28th, the People’s Committee of Hanoi organized to open to traffic and attach the signboard of celebrating the 75th anniversary of the National Day of September 2nd and the 17th Hanoi Party Congress for the flyover construction project at the intersection of Hoang Quoc Viet street and Nguyen Van Huyen street.

Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, Member of the Politburo and Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee; Mr. Khuat Viet Hung, Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee and Mr. Nguyen Van Suu, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hanoi attended and performed the ceremony of attaching the signboard “The work to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the National Day of September 2nd and the 17th Hanoi Party Congress”.

Nguyen Van Huyen overpass is one of the key projects and has important meanings for the traffic of Hanoi. This is the 13th flyover in Hanoi.

Speaking at the inauguration, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hanoi Nguyen The Hung said: “The inauguration and putting the project into operation will solve the congestion at the bottleneck that has been existing in more than 23 years on Nguyen Van Huyen street; and to facilitate traffic on Ring Road No. 2,5 from Cau Giay district to Bac Tu Liem and Tay Ho district.

Right after the traffic-opening ceremony, vehicles in both directions passed the bridge; and even it was rush hour, the vehicles moving under the bridge no longer suffered from the congestion as before.

The flyover consists of 5 spans, 4 lanes and is built with the design load of level II, steel box girder, and variable girder height (at the pier is 2,45 meters, at the middle of the span is 1,2 meters); the cross-section is arranged 2 box girders; the clearance for traffic under the overpass is 4,75 meters, and the total length is 278 meters.

Nguyen Van Huyen overpass has important meanings which include contributing to reducing the traffic congestion and accidents at the intersection of Hoang Quoc Viet - Nguyen Van Huyen as well as connecting 3 districts of Cau Giay, Tay Ho, and Bac Tu Liem./.
