German people have high needs for apparel products, which is considered as an advantage for Vietnamese garment enterprises to boost export to the market, according to experts.

It is said each German family spends 23 EUR on men wear, 44 EUR on women clothes, 8 EUR on child wear, and 12 EUR on other garment and textile products, a month.

The 82 million people European country is also a demanding market for high-quality and delicated-designed products, which is viewed as another advantage for Vietnam ’s garment exporters to exploit potentials of the market.

According the Industry and Trade Ministry’s statistics, Vietnam earned 445.85 million USD from garment export to Germany , a year-on-year increase of 13.11 percent. In January this year, the value reached 58.8 million USD, half as much as the same period last year.

Garment exporters are suggested to focus on sport wear and clothes for clients from 30 years old.

To increase export value as well as turn all advantages in profits in the largest market in the EU, exporters need to make specific and long-term plans on market segments, which are suitable for their capacity, experts suggested.

They also reminded exporters of the necessity to follow strictly both EU and Germany ’s standards on quality, hygiene of products and social responsibilities of producers./.
