The second global conference on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change (AFC) wrapped up in Hanoi on September 7 with a communique underscoring the importance of food security.

Food security has been and will be a critical issue for the international community, the document said, adding that food security, poverty, climate change and sustainable development are inseparable.

It also came up with other suggestions on risk management, research application and transfer of science and technologies in agricultural activities.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat said that the outcomes of the conference will serve as a motivation for designing of new models and appropriate actions to ensure a sustainable global food chain and foster food security and sustainable agriculture.-VNA
