Hanoi, (VNA) - The following is a brief review of the day’s events as reported by the Vietnam News Agency.

-Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his spouse and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam left Hanoi at noon on February 8 for official visits to Singapore and Brunei from February 8-11.

The visits are made at the invitations of Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.Read full text

-The Business Times, a Singaporean financial daily, and Asia Times, Hong Kong–based news platform, have recently run articles highlighting Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit to Singapore from February 8-10.Read full text

-Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s coming official visit to Brunei will create a strong impulse for further intensifying the two countries’ comprehensive partnership, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Brunei Tran Van Khoa.

Talking to the Vietnam News Agency, Khoa said the visit on February 10 - 11 holds great significance as it is the first trip to Brunei by a PM of Vietnam in nearly 16 years and takes place amid growing bilateral relations, following the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2022.Read full text

-Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang received Chinese Ambassador Xiong Bo in Hanoi on February 8, reviewing the nations’ past cooperation and discussing ways to step up the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the time to come.

Lauding progress recorded in the two Parties’ relations as well as the bilateral economic, trade and investment collaboration, host and guest agreed that the key task is to effectively implement a joint statement and many cooperation agreements signed between their countries during a recent official visit by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to China.Read full text

-Children are always put at the centre of all development policies and strategies of Vietnam, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, the country’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN), has affirmed.

Addressing the first regular session of the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Executive Board held in New York from February 7-10, Giang briefed participants on outstanding results that Vietnam has achieved in the past one year since the executive board approved the Vietnam Country Programme in February 2022.Read full text

-The Argentina-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group made its debut at the Argentine Chamber of Deputies’ headquarters in Buenos Aires on February 7.

President of the nine-member group Maria Rosa Martinez affirmed that it will actively contribute to strengthening political, economic and trade ties as well as cooperation and solidarity between the two countries’ legislative bodies and peoples.Read full text

-The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has never issued any documents or statements ordering credit for real estate be tightened, Deputy Governor Dao Minh Tu said on February 8.

Real estate is a sector contributing considerably to the economy, and this market is linked with other sectors, he told a meeting on real estate credit.Read full text

-The Vietnamese aviation market is forecast to fully recover by the end of this year, according to a global outlook for the aviation industry released by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) recently.

According to the association, Vietnam saw a full recovery and recorded strong growth in the domestic aviation market last year, while its international market is expected to reach the level recorded in 2019 by the end of 2023.Read full text

-The wave of Vietnamese investments in Attapeu has helped to draw more capital to the Lao province, a local official has said.

Attapeu’s Deputy Governor Thanousay Bansalth told the Vietnam News Agency that the province is home to many Vietnamese projects, notably the Xekaman 1 hydropower project, and those by Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group and Truong Hai Auto Corporation, which have contributed to job generation and export in the locality.Read full text/.
