Hanoi, (VNA) - The following is a brief review of the day’s events as reported by the Vietnam News Agency.

– Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his belief that Vietnam will become one of the top 30 countries worldwide in terms of tourism competitiveness, while chairing an national teleconference on tourism on March 15.
The country's tourism sector should develop strongly with “special products, professional services and clean environment” to make Vietnam a safe, friendly destination, he said.Read full text

– A dialogue between the Prime Minister and youths will be held in both online and in-person formats on March 26 on the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
Themed “Building up high-quality young human resources to meet the Industry 4.0", it will focus on the implementation of the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws related to youths, as well as responsibilities of relevant agencies and organisations to ensure the legitimate rights and interests of young people.Read full text

- The 15th National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee convened its 21st session in Hanoi on March 15 under the chair of NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
Hue said that during the session, which will conclude on March 20, the NA Standing Committee will prepare important contents for the legislature’s 5th plenary session.Read full text

– Vietnam - Australia cooperation relations in the past five years have grown strongly with the flexible implementation of bilateral cooperation mechanisms, and possibly see more opportunities in the coming time, said Professor Carl Thayer from the Australian Defence Force Academy, the University of New South Wales.
Speaking to the Vietnam News Agency about the action programme to implement the Vietnam- Australia Strategic Partnership for the period of 2020-2023 when the two countries celebrate the 5th anniversary of their strategic partnership (March 15, 2018- March 15, 2023), the professor highlighted that the strategic partnership focuses on three pillars - strengthening economic-trade linkages; deepen strategic-defense-security cooperation; and building knowledge and innovation partnerships.Read full text

– The 2023 contest on protecting the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)’s ideological foundation was launched among the members of the Party Organisation of the Central Agencies’ Bloc on March 15.

– Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan on March 15 said that agritourism should be turned into an integrated economic sector with agricultural products and typical characteristics of rural areas being used as resources to serve the tourism industry.Speaking at a teleconference on tourism, Hoan said that the National Strategy for Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, already approved by the Prime Minister, affirms that rural tourism development is identified as one of the fundamental solutions, a driving force for promoting sustainable new-style rural areas, contributing to bringing into play the advantages and distinctive values of agriculture, rural areas, and farmers.Read full text

– The pair of Mong Cai (Vietnam) – Dongxing (China) International Border Gates officially resumed customs clearance procedures for international tourists on March 15.
The first foreign tourists entering Vietnam through the border gate in the northern province of Quang Ninh on the day were a group of 38 Chinese tourists. They are scheduled to visit several places in Vietnam during their four-day tour such as Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh) and the capital city of Hanoi.Read full text

– The Cuc Phuong National Park in the northern province of Ninh Binh said on March 15 that it has received and rescued many rare and endangered animals from localities nationwide.
From March 5-12, the park's Centre for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Creatures received five pangolins and one masked palm civet from authorised units in the central provinces of Quang Tri, Thanh Hoa and Ha Tinh, and Da Nang city.Read full text/.
