- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chính, who is also head of the Central Steering Committee on Housing Policy and Real Estate Market, has demanded stricter oversight and transparency in approving, selling, renting and rent-to-own social housing units.
Addressing the committee’s third meeting in Hanoi on November 11, which virtually linked with 34 cities and provinces nationwide, PM Chinh said the meeting aims to dismantle bureaucratic hurdles, ensuring open, sustainable social housing development and property market. Read full story
- The Vietnam-India Bilateral Exercise 2025 (VINBAX 2025) opened at the National Military Training Centre 4 in Hanoi on November 11.
Co-hosted by the defence ministries of Vietnam and India, the exercise aims to enhance the professional capacity, coordination, and field exercise organisation for the two countries' engineer, military medical, and search and rescue forces prior to deployment for UN Peacekeeping operations. - Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Xuan Sang held talks with Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Aukje de Vries in Hanoi on November 10, aiming to deepen Vietnam-Netherlands cooperation in the maritime and aviation sectors.
During the talks, Sang underlined that with the long-standing diplomatic relations and strong partnership between the two countries, as well as Vietnam’s ongoing integration and development needs, there remains huge potential for further cooperation in various sectors, particularly transport and construction. - The Ha Long International Cruise Port in the northeastern province of Quang Ninh is expected to welcome about 32,000 visitors by the end of 2025, marking a record year for international cruise arrivals and reinforcing Ha Long’s status as a premier gateway for luxury sea tourism in Vietnam.
On November 11–12, the port is receiving two luxury cruise ships — Westerdam (Netherlands) and Star Voyager (Bahamas) — carrying more than 3,100 passengers and crew members to explore Quang Ninh’s heritage sites. Upon arrival, Westerdam’s guests visited iconic destinations such as Ha Long Bay, Yen Tu scenic complex, and the province's centre area, while some tour groups travelled to Hanoi and Vinh Bao (Hai Phong) to experience the cultural and historical highlights of the Red River Delta. - The World Tea Fest 2025, Vietnam’s first international-scale tea festival, officially opened in Lam Dong province on November 11, promising a month-long celebration of tea culture through a diverse blend of cultural, artistic, and economic activities.
The festival features four remarkable records: a mass tea-brewing performance by 1,111 artisans; the preservation of a 100-year-old tea factory; the participation of beauty queens from 80 countries; and the display of 1,000 ancient tea trees, each several centuries old. Read full story

- All five Vietnamese students Hanoi excelled at the 2025 World Young Physicists Olympiad (WYPO), held recently in Indonesia, winning two silver and three bronze medals.
The WYPO, held by the Organising Centre for STEM Olympiad (OCSO), a non-profit organisation in the field of STEM development in the world, aimed at encouraging students to develop scientific thinking, experimental research skills, and the ability to apply physics knowledge to real-world situations.
