- Vietnamese Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan met with thePresidents of Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan on October 13, as part of hertrip to attend the 6th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and ConfidenceBuilding Measures in Asia (CICA) in Kazakhstan’s Astana capital.

Welcoming the Vietnamese leader, Kazakh PresidentKassym-Jomart Tokaev highly valued Vietnam’s role and significant contributionswithin the CICA framework. - Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) AntonioGuterres has congratulated Vietnam on its election to the UN Human RightsCouncil for the 2023-2025 term, noting his belief that Vietnam will maintainactive and effective contributions to the promotion and protection of humanrights.

In her remarks, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Tra, DeputyPermanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN, held that it is necessary toboost constructive political dialogue and seek durable peace on the basis ofrespecting fundamental principles of international law, the UN Charter, andrelevant resolutions of the UN General Assembly, including Resolution 1514 onthe Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries andPeoples.
