Agents warned of outbound tours to casinos

International travel agents are not allowed to organise outbound tours that involve visits to casinos for Vietnamese tourists, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism said.

This is part of the latest regulations issued by the administration in an effort to ensure safety for local tourists.

The agency also ordered restriction of tours to foreign countries that show signs of insecurity.

It requested that departments of culture, sports and tourism strictlyabide by regulations on outbound tours and insurances for tourists, andtake every necessary measures to ensure tourists’ safety, property andinterests.

Outbound tours have been steadily on the rise in Vietnam , which has agood side of satisfying the growing demand of local tourists. Yet,there remain some cases where travel agents failed to protect thehealth, safety and rights of Vietnamese tourists as a result ofnon-adherence to state regulations./.

Ministry proposes seven-day 2027 Lunar New Year holiday

Under the Ministry of Home Affairs' proposal, civil servants and public employees in Vietnam would receive five statutory days off, including two days before and three days after the Lunar New Year.
